Huge Breakthrough: Fade & Turn


Hi all,

I just wanted to quickly let you know that DiscGolfVR just made a major breakthrough. This entire time of development, the forces for pitch and roll were being applied in the wrong way, and this was resulting in a very sporadic/rocky throw when turning on 'Advanced Throwing'. I had no idea why this was the case, or why it was happening, until just now. I reread some flight models, and changed a couple things, and now the flight path in DiscGolfVR has proper Fade and Turn characteristics.

This is the first pass, but it's a huge milestone and a great addition to the throwing revamp being worked on right now. This is what 'Advanced Throwing' should have been, and will be! For those of you familiar, you know the importance of throwing an overturned disc, or having a high fade on the tail of your throw.

Just wanted to update you all, and let you peek at what's to come :)

Well played, Good Sir!  I just thought I wasn't doing it right when I turned on advanced throwing.  Your latest update has some excellent improvements (finally got a chance to play it a couple of days ago) and I can't wait to try this out once you release it.

I upgraded to a new gaming PC & also got an Oculus Rift now too. Might get into developing soon. Can't wait to try the next update you do with new fade mechanics.
