Big announcement here -

Disc Benders now has full online multiplayer support!

That's right! You can now bend discs alongside your friends, and other players online. This update has been a long time coming, and we want to break down all the cool features that come with this update:

Online Play

For this first version of multiplayer, you'll be able to play online in password-protected, private games. Basically, you can create a multiplayer game, or join one, as long as you have the password. Up to 4 benders are able to play together, taking turns and keeping score for the game!

New Player Avatars

Since you'll be discing with others, you'll need some style to make yourself stand out. Create a sweet name, and pick a color that's solid for your avatar, disc trails, and nameplates. You can customize these in the menu's new Multiplayer panel.

Game Flow

When playing a multiplayer game with others, there will be a certain flow. The player who created the game is considered the 'host' and will be able to start the game from the Multiplayer panel. Starting with the host, each player will be able to throw on their turn. Once the current player's disc has landed, their turn is over, and it will move onto the next player. The order of the turns is the order in which each player joined into the game.

When it is your turn, you will be notified with a sound cue and a vibration on your smart watch. You can see whose turn it currently is by looking in your Multiplayer panel, or at other's nameplates. If it is glowing green, it is their turn.

While leaving a game is supported, joining, or rejoining in the middle of a game is not. If a player leaves a game you are in the middle of playing, the game might break. These will be looked at for improvement in future versions.

Each players score will be counted as they play along in the game, and you can check these out near the tee pad, at the start of each hole

Multiplayer supports cross-platform play, within the Oculus ecosystem. You'll be able to play with anyone that has Quest, Quest2 or Rift CV/S. Having this feature makes a lot of things easier, like having friends and making groups. While native voice chat is not in the game yet, you can use Oculus Party mode to invite friends and chat with them while your playing the game - It's quite seamless!

Now for the caution - There is a bug in multiplayer modes still lurking about, so keep an eye out. If you are playing with others, and the game suddenly doesn't move forward like it should after the current player throws, unfortunately it will completely stop the flow of the experience, and you will have to restart. We are doing are best to uncover this issue, but it doesn't happen too often.

New Course

There's also a brand new, challenging 9-hole course. It goes by the name of Cloud9

This is a snowy, cloudy, mountainous course on a floating island. It is a much more open course format compared to the Main Course, and it'll be interesting to see how you all adapt to it's elevations. There is also a new basket design on this course, so be mindful of which side of the basket you are sliding up to. We are open to feedback for this course as well.

Other Knick-Knacks

• The ground physics have been tuned very well in line with the discs, including bouncing, sliding, rollers, etc
• Performance for lower-end hardware like the Quest has been increased, especially around baskets (useful when putting)
• You can now select out-of-bounds as an option, if you want it on or off for all modes
• Bug: Discs spin giving out towards the end of their flights, now fixed without dramatic drop-off
• Disc flight modelling rebalanced, with all disc turn/fade values recalculated to fit these changes
